Courtney Thorne Smith Bio

American actress Courtney Thorne Smith (born November 8 in 1967). Her most memorable role is Alison Parker on Melrose Place and Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal. She also played Cheryl in According to Jim and Lyndsey McElroy in Two and a Half Men. Thorne-Smith was born in San Francisco, California, and was raised in Menlo Park, a suburb south of San Francisco. Her father, Walter Smith, was an expert in market research using computers, and her mother, Lora Thorne, was a therapist. They separated at the age of seven. Courtney was just seven. She lived with both parents in different stages. Jennifer her elder sister, is an advertising executive. She graduated in 1985 from Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley, California. While in the high school, she participated in the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley. Thorne-Smith's first film appearance in the feature film drama Lucas with Winona Ryder Corey Haim, and Charlie Sheen. In the latter half of the 1980s, she also appeared in a variety of films, including Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II (Nerds in Paradise) (1987), Summer School (1987) and Side Out(90). In 1998, she was a star in the box office failure Chairman of the Board with Carrot Top. She also appeared in Sorority Wars in 2009. Thorne Smith was the lover of Andrew Shue from Melrose Place in the 1990s. In June 2000, she tied the knot with Andrew Conrad, a geneticist. The couple divorced in the month of January. Roger Fishman, the president of Zizo Group marketing and author of What I Know, was her husband. At the age of 40 she gave birth on the morning of January 11 in 2008 to Jacob Emerson Fishman.
